Bioinformatics Analyst IV
Summary
This position works closely with research scientists in support of diverse research programs to mine and analyze large, complex, and unstructured biological datasets using computer programming or advanced statistical methods.

- Develops, modifies, and applies software, algorithms, or pipelines to genomic or other biological data sets with the goal of understanding biological processes, diseases, or disorders.
- In conjunction with research scientists, designs and analyzes experiments or data sets. Develops mathematical models for integrating disparate data sources for the purposes of more thorough analysis.
- Assists in analysis and interpretation of research results and contributes to publications or presentations.
- Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues. Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group.
Education and Experience
A Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of experience or a bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience.

Supervision
May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
