Emergency Management Coordinator

Summary

The position will support the UF Department of Emergency Management’s mission of providing a comprehensive, all-hazards approach to preparedness through prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery. Responsibilities include design and delivery of training and exercises; maintaining departmental readiness for emergency operations; and development of emergency plans. The position will additionally assist the Director and Assistant Director to administer departmental programs and initiatives. This position is designed as an Essential Employee and is subject to recall to work.

  • Development and implementation of an integrated preparedness plan establishing multiyear training, exercise, and planning priorities for the university’s Emergency Operations Team (EOT) as well as stakeholders within departments and colleges.
  • Enhance and sustain the readiness capabilities of the department and University Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
  • Collaborate with internal and external UF Alert stakeholders to address program coordination, performance evaluation, system testing, outreach efforts, and user training.
  • Support the Building Emergency Coordinator (BEC) program through education, training, and program improvements.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Supervision

This position does not typically have supervisory responsibility.
