Event Operations Assistant

Summary

Responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of events. Assist in oversight for audio visual and productions services as well as provide professional services in sound reinforcement, lighting, projection and various other audio and video operating systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; on-site set-up and operation of equipment, equipment upkeep and maintenance, and assistance with general operations of the units including training and oversight of student staff and creation of policies and/or procedures as necessary.

  • Review daily event schedule to ensure customer equipment and audio-visual needs are met.
  • Physically set up furniture and equipment consistent with customer reservation.
  • Inspect furniture and AV systems for damage. Perform minor repairs or arrange for repairs from outside vendors.
  • Assist with accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with hiring and provide oversight and direction to student crews conducting room setups or working specific events as directed.
  • Assess systems and equipment in terms of student staff and customer use for the purpose of advocating for changes that will best serve the needs of customers.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

This position does not typically have supervisory responsibility.
