Event Operations Manager
Summary
Responsible for the management of event production support operations and services that are provided for conferences, banquets, receptions, and other various activities. Oversees professional services in sound reinforcement, lighting, projection, and other audio and video operating systems. Supervises event productions staff and event preparations including on-site set-up and equipment maintenance. Responsible for establishing and implementing comprehensive policies and operational procedures for event productions.

- Manage the productions side of events including conferences, banquets, receptions, meetings, and similar events.
- Oversee the set-up of audio-visual systems, equipment, and event floor plans.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate event productions staff. Oversee scheduling of staff to ensure necessary coverage for all events.
- Research, develop proposals, and oversee purchase of goods and services, AV equipment, and furnishings for events.
- Oversee inventory and maintenance of all equipment.
- Provide oversight for approved service agreements and other contractual services internally and with external vendors.
- Consult with Conference-Event Planner/Manager and customers to develop production specifications for each event.
- Develop training manuals and implement job training programs for employees on operation, safety, and maintenance of equipment, excellent customer service, and related topics.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, ADA, and other relevant regulations.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
