EXEC DIR, Development Information Systems

Summary

The Executive Director is a key strategic member of the Advancement Intelligence Leadership team that is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and management of information systems that support fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives. This role ensures the effective use of technology to enhance data management, reporting, and analytics in support of development activities.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for development information systems that aligns with the institution’s goals and enhances fundraising effectiveness.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, architecture, and maintenance of CRM and database systems, including related e-commerce and marketing applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the development team.
  • Ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of data within development systems, implementing best practices for data management and compliance.
  • Create and oversee processes that integrate data from various sources for the purpose of providing actionable insights into fundraising performance and alumni engagement.
  • Work closely with development staff, IT, and other stakeholders to identify system needs and improvements.
  • Develop training programs and resources for staff to effectively utilize information systems and tools.
  • Lead technology projects related to development information systems, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual business planning and fiscal planning ensuring alignment of the budget with the Development Information Systems strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Assist the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Intelligence in formulating development policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent with the university’s development program.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies that can enhance development operations.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience in information technology, data management, business administration, or related field; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and ten years of appropriate experience in information technology, data management, business administration, or related field.
