Medical Laboratory Technician
Summary
Under supervision, performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens in a designated laboratory.

- Performs various microscopic, chemical, hematological, immunologic, or bacteriologic assays according to established standards. Calibrates and operates all instruments and equipment according to preventive maintenance schedule. Records and enters test results.
- Performs laboratory tests that support qualitative determinations. Ensures preparation of specimens for examination. Conducts routine tests within clinical laboratories regarding the practice of treatment and diagnosis of diseases.
- Investigates and preforms experiments relating to urinalyses, blood counts, venipunctures, body fluids, tissues, and cells. Utilizes precise laboratory equipment according to safety and organizational training
Education and Experience
Licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technician in one of the specialty areas to which the position is allocated.
