Radiologist Assistant
Summary
Under the supervision of a radiologist, provide patient management and assessment care in the diagnostic and therapeutic imaging environment.

- Performs selected radiology examinations and procedures under the supervision of a radiologist.
- Evaluates image quality, making initial image observations and forwarding those observations to the supervising radiologist.
- Determines whether a patient has been appropriately prepared for a procedure.
- Obtains patient consent prior to beginning the examination.
- Answers questions from the patient and his or her family.
- Adapts exam protocols to improve diagnostic quality.
- Serves as a patient advocate, ensuring patient quality care.
Education and Experience
Certification as a Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Licensure and Certification
Certification as a Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Supervision
Does not typically supervise others.
