Research Administrator II
Summary
The Research Administrator II is a skilled professional responsible for managing complex research administration tasks. This role demands a high level of autonomy and expertise in university and sponsor policies. The individual will solve complex problems, guide and mentor others, and manage significant projects or processes. They must recognize situations requiring policy waivers and possess the capability to manage projects with minimal supervision.

- Manages complex post-award accounting of grants and contracts with a high degree of autonomy.
- Serves as a technical expert and advisor to PIs and research administrators.
- Leads pre-award support, ensuring strict compliance with complex university and sponsor policies.
- Analyzes and projects financial data, ensuring fiscal control and compliance with advanced financial analysis skills.
- Develops and manages complex proposals, including negotiating terms and ensuring policy adherence.
- Coordinates with various departments and sponsors to resolve complex fund management issues.
- Takes a leadership role in negotiations of grant and contract terms.
- Advises on identifying and assessing significant funding opportunities.
- Oversees proposal compliance, providing guidance on complex and significant issues.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

May involve coaching, mentoring, and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals, and may include direct supervisory responsibilities.
