Roofer Level 1
Summary
Assist with routine maintenance, including preventive maintenance, cleaning of roofs and gutters. Assist with the install, repair, and preventatively maintain various types of roofs, including shingle, metal, and built-up roof (BUR) systems (e.g., modified and gravel surfaced roofs). Assist with repair and preventively maintain single-ply roofing systems (e.g., thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), and polytetrafluoroethylene (“Teflon”) fabrics). Power wash various facilities and structures. Assist with recoating of existing roofs. Assist with fabrication and installation of sheet metal parts. Assist with repairs of roofs and flashings. Assist with repair of parapet walls by pointing up and/or caulking joints, wall flashings.

- Assist with install, repair, and preventatively maintain various types of roofs, including shingle, metal, and BUR systems (e.g., modified and gravel surfaced roofs).
- Assist with install, repair, and preventively maintain single-ply roofing systems (e.g., TPO, PVC, EPDM, and “Teflon” fabrics).
- Assist with resurfacing existing roofs with coating, fabric, and other materials.
- Assist with install, repair, and preventatively maintaining roof drain buckets, clamping rings, and flashings
- Point up and caulk parapet walls and masonry joints.
- Install dowel pins, reset parapet wall capstones, and perform related work.
- Assist with fabrication and install various sheet metal accessories (e.g., gutters, downspouts, and wall flashings).
- Clean roofs and gutter systems.
- Power wash various facilities and structures.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of appropriate on-the-job roofing experience. Completion of NCCER Core and NCCER Roofing Level 1 Curriculum
Licensure and Certification
Florida Class E operator (driver) license
