AST DIR, Project Management Office

Summary

This position provides professional analytical information services to support the fundraising goals and objectives for the University of Florida. Responsible for ensuring best practices in project management, business analysis, and change management to develop, document and implement departmental and organizational priority technical projects, process improvements, and procedures.

  • Serve as lead on high-level projects that implement new business rules and processes related to relationship management systems and prospect development.
  • Assist in managing the portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, resource allocation, and overall project success.
  • Work to improve project management and business analysis processes and methodologies to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency across projects.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to project managers, business analysts, and teams, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to successfully execute projects.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, working with project managers and business analysts to develop risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and issues.
  • Assist in resource allocation and management, ensuring  project teams have the necessary resources, including personnel, budget, and tools, to deliver on project objectives.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to quality standards and best practices, conducting regular reviews and audits to assess project performance and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain project management and business analysis metrics and reporting mechanisms to track project progress, performance, and outcomes.
  • Support the professional development of project managers, business analysts, and project teams, providing training, mentoring, and coaching as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of University’s strategic plans and objectives, aligning project initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Assist in managing organizational change associated with project implementations, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes or technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners as needed, managing vendor relationships and contracts to support project delivery.
  • Understand University information systems and coordinate training and other technology implementations with leadership.
  • May directly supervise, train and direct the work of assigned staff.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree and four years of relevant experience in project management, information technology, business analysis, or related field; or a bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience in project management, information technology, business analysis or related field.
