Finance Business Partner I

Summary

Serves as a strategic partner and liaison for employees and managers throughout the UF enterprise and core finance functions.  Acts as an advisor to assess needs and provide recommendations to promote best practices.  Supports change initiatives across the finance function and ensures effective partnership between core functions and department or unit staff.

• Consults with finance staff enterprise-wide to assess needs, identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations to leadership regarding finance functions
• Works with core finance function to provide recommendations on internal controls and fiscal best practices, ensuring alignment with policies, goals and standards
• Acts as strategic and tactical support for finance staff on a variety of matters
• Participates in the planning process and development of finance strategy to meet and support the needs of the unit
• Communicates fiscal policies and procedures for faculty and staff to support alignment of interpretation across the enterprise
• Assists in the development and facilitation of fiscal trainings for members of the UF community
• Supports new programs and change initiatives within the finance functions

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position typically does not have supervisory responsibilities.
