Clinical Laboratory Manager

Summary

Organizes and directs the daily activities of the laboratory. Responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control. Will develop standard operating procedures, generate workflow, and implement training programs.

Examples of Work

  • Manages daily operations, case files, contracts, and workflow of the laboratories.
  • Manages staff, technicians, schedules, site visits, and workflow optimization.
  • Develop laboratory procedures.
  • Prepares operating budgets.
  • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Responsible for quality metrics and creating and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Instruct and train staff in quality control and analytical procedures.
  • Serves as point of contact for relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
