Research Development Strategist I
Summary
This position uses professional concepts to identify funding opportunities, manage internal seed grant and limited funding competitions, support faculty in developing competitive proposals, assist in preparing complex multi-disciplinary grant proposals, and provide training and workshops.

- Create, update, maintain and disseminate lists of funding opportunities, including curated lists for specific audiences.
- Develop and manage internal seed grant and limited funding competitions.
- Understand the structure and functions of funding agencies.
- Identify procedural gaps and recommend improvements to optimize program effectiveness.
- Serve as secondary contact on larger proposals led by senior Research Development Strategists.
- Use tools and resources to recommend strategies for winning proposals.
- Assist senior Research Development Strategists in organizing and delivering trainings and workshops.
- Conduct ongoing analyses of the research landscape to identify emerging trends.
- Identify potential challenges and opportunities, gather relevant data, and propose solutions to leadership.
- Collaborate on various initiatives, outreach efforts, and advisory activities.
- Provide university faculty with guidance on available resources.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
