Research Development Strategist II

Summary

This position works under moderate supervision and applies advanced professional knowledge and skills to identify strategic areas of funding opportunities, engage with stakeholders, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, advise leadership on strategic funding directions and lead the development and delivery of training and workshops. Additionally, the position mentors junior team members.

  • Serve as primary contact for larger proposals being developed by UF faculty.
  • Enhance the likelihood of successful grant submissions by applying institutional knowledge, understanding sponsor review process and leveraging prior experience in grant writing and review.
  • Provide expert guidance on the content, structure, and strategy for complex grant proposals.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and serve as key point of contact for program-related inquiries and information.
  • Develop strategies to address potential challenges and drive the growth and expansion of research development programs.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaborations to form cross college scientific teams.
  • Develop, organize and deliver trainings and workshops.
  • Apply expertise in funding agency structure and functions to advise leadership of strategic directions.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior Research Development Strategists, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in grant and contract administration or grant writing, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
