Assistant Director Prospect Strategy/Research
Summary
This position provides professional analytical research, leadership support, and information services to ensure development officers are working with the University’s most financially capable donors.

- Identify and assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and connections to UF for major gift prospects in support of fundraising goals and objectives.
- Serve as liaison between college/unit development officers and UF Advancement.
- Ensure development staff are working with the University’s most financially capable donors and that research efforts are effectively moving prospects through the development cycle.
- Recognize when issues, activities, and/or decisions need to be elevated to leadership, and communicate information effectively to others.
- Provide key support and insight in the maintenance of viable portfolios via portfolio review sessions (including meeting preparation and follow up); provide ongoing analysis and analytics of portfolios, moves and stages.
- Assist in maintenance of fundraising pipeline and gift solicitation data integrity.
- Develop and evaluate alternatives, recommendations, solutions, and conclusions or approaches to research problems.
- Work under guidelines for governed by unit procedures, processes, and manuals.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the donor database and expertise in retrieval of information.
- Enhance and maintain policies and procedures documentation supporting best practices.
- Execute special campaign projects, which may include leading a workgroup, conducting targeted research and analysis, partnering with units and internal groups, and developing and executing recommendations.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the team and execute department strategy.
- Participate in the strategic and long-term strategic plans, including new initiatives and programs designed to enhance the donor relations and/or stewardship activities of assigned college or campus.
- Supervise team members in assigned vertical, including hiring, onboarding, training and professional development, delegating duties, mentoring, certifying time and attendance, performance management (including annual appraisal) and performance action
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of relevant experience.
