Director of Strategic Initiatives, Advancement
Summary
This position manages critical initiatives/projects that enhance and support fundraising efforts and campaign priorities. This position may report to an Associate/Assistant Vice President, Executive Director, or other appropriate administrator. This position may not report to another Director.

- Leads strategic planning and management of university-wide programs and initiatives.
- Leads strategies/programs for major and leadership gifts and create strategies related to setting and achieving campaign goals
- Conceptualizes, implements, directs and manages engagement initiatives that enhance and support fundraising efforts and campaign priorities
- Serves as the strategic partner to leadership by providing updates and recommendations on critical initiatives or projects.
- Assists stakeholders in driving projects through to completion.
- Manages and leads naming and memorial initiatives.
- Communicates management initiatives and assists in formulating and implementing policies and procedures
- Collaborates to produce and examine reports related to fundraising performance and core development metrics to effectively measure fundraising progress
- Plan and monitor the budgets for initiatives and special events.
- Provides prospect management processes to effectively enhance cultivation and solicitation
- Develops awards and recognition to drive strategic development production (i.e., metrics, visits, proposals, dollars raised, etc.)
- Establishes metrics and measures to evaluate campaign goal completion
- Enhance cultivation strategies for top prospects and donors through high-level engagement programming that aligns programming with unit fundraising initiatives.
- Provides guidance and direction to staff involved in engagement initiatives and programs.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.
