Prospect Strategy Analyst II

Summary

Under general supervision, this position provides prospect management and strategy development to designated colleges/units to help development officers engage prospects. Will have a primary responsibility for a project or activity.

  • Provide professional prospect development, analytical research and information services in support of the fundraising goals and objectives of UF Advancement.
  • Identify and assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and connections to UF for major gift prospects in support of fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Prepare thorough, accurate and timely profiles on UF constituents (alumni, friends, parents, corporations and foundations) as needed to support fundraising initiatives. Use a variety of analytical techniques to resolve or provide information regarding complex research and data problems.
  • Utilize a variety of reference materials, online databases, Internet, and governmental or other agency resources to obtain information on prospects or funding sources for gifts to the University.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the donor database and expertise in retrieval of information.

  • Execute special campaign projects as identified by leadership, which may include leading a workgroup, conducting targeted research and analysis, partnering with units and internal groups, and developing and executing recommendations.
  • Support PSR operations and priority initiatives by serving as a technical subject matter expert in an assigned area.
  • Act as a strategic partner for assigned development officers (DOs) within colleges/units in prospect strategy development and documentation.
  • Meet regularly with assigned DOs to fully comprehend and gain thorough knowledge and understanding of assigned campaign priorities, DO portfolios and short/long term prospect goals.
  • Conduct quarterly Gator Portfolio Support (GPS) meetings with all assigned DOs to facilitate strategic conversations regarding the management of prospects, pipeline development and portfolio

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
