Chief of Staff
Summary
Advises the Vice President or other appropriate administrator on policy, procedural, and operational issues. May be charged with leading operations for strategic initiatives. Represents the executive to senior leadership, campus officials, and critical external constituents. Serves as a visible top-level leadership role for the institution on behalf of the executive.
Examples of Work
- Serves as an aid to the Vice President and/or other senior management members in regard to facilitating effective decision-making on complex, at large scenarios that will have a major effect or significant change on the organization
- Assesses regular inquiries from outside stakeholders or other levels of management directed at the executive team and liaises with the appropriate personnel, to make certain issues are addressed properly and with jurisdiction
- Has a high impact on the implementation of strategic initiatives, that carry out overarching organizational objectives. Participates in regular meeting with the C-Suite, to evaluate organizational barriers to success and develops courses of action to overcome such issues.
- Serves as a visible top-level leadership role and often represents the Vice President or other appropriate administrator.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and eight years of experience.
