Summary

The Fiscal Assistant III is responsible for offering advanced accounts and fiscal support. With a solid understanding of University financial policies and procedures, this position handles complex calculations, verifies financial data, and processes account transactions. As an expert paraprofessional, the individual often operates autonomously and is a resource to other account staff. They may also oversee unit account operations.

Examples of Work

  • Research, analyze, and solve intricate account transaction issues. 
  • Classify, record, and summarize financial and numerical data. 
  • Handle personnel transactions and process payroll documents. 
  • Oversee and reconcile purchasing transactions. 
  • Use equipment like 10-key calculators, typewriters, scanners, and copy machines for various tasks. 
  • Prepare and review financial reports and records. 
  • Interpret, explain, and apply intricate policies and procedures. 
  • Develop and oversee budgets. 
  • Implement and evaluate processes or systems linked to accounts or fiscal matters. 

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and five years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Supervision

The Fiscal Assistant III may have supervisory duties. The Fiscal Assistant III may mentor or guide junior employees, manage certain projects, and address non-standard problems with analytical thinking.
