Assistant Director, Analytic Services

Summary

Assists in the direction of analytic services in the Office of Institutional Planning and Research. Performs and oversees high level analytic and data reporting activities in support of all aspects of the university.

  • Works across all aspects of the institution to develop short and long-term analytic and data reporting priorities. Creates and manages processes for data and analytics requests that align with these priorities, and communicates these processes effectively to requestors and stakeholders.
  • Provides relevant, timely, and accurate institutional information to university administrators, the university community at large, and external agencies; provides institution-wide support for obtaining data and information and performing analyses in response to specific needs. Develops and maintains key partnerships with internal and external entities.
  • Initiates and performs research and policy analyses relevant to anticipated institutional planning, policy, and decision-making needs.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of unit staff.
  • Develops and manages annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
  • Oversees the overall operations of unit(s) reporting to this position.
  • Works cooperatively with various university constituencies to optimize the quality, availability, and flow of relevant data and information throughout the university; Assists the institution in identifying and understanding emerging internal and external issues and significant environmental changes, constituting both opportunities and challenges to the university; supports and integrates university planning efforts at all levels with institutional research, policy analysis, and outcomes assessment.
  • Represents the University to various institutional divisions as well as externally to governmental agencies, vendors, students and their parents, and/or the general public.
  • Recommends and participates in the development of University policies and procedures; may serve on University planning and policy-making committees.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

This position does have supervisory responsibility.
