Manager, Transportation
Summary
This position is responsible for the coordination and administration of a wide array of transportation-related services for the University of Florida community including main campus and all visitors. Acts as the Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) primary contact for internal and external constituents on sustainable transit related matters. Provides leadership and supervision for all in-house transportation services.

- Provides leadership to develop, implement and oversee Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs.
- Promote sustainable transportation and alternative commuting through marketing techniques, incentive programs, and outreach strategies.
- Manage, provide guidance and support to Transportation Operations responsible for in-house transportation services including Campus Cab, SNAP, Gator Lift and Gator Gears.
- Evaluate the needs and costs for each in-house transportation service, identify short and long-term objectives, collect and analyze expense and ridership data, monitor performance to maximize efficiencies and the rider experience, provide reports as required.
- Assist the Director in developing annual budgets for each service.
- Conduct analysis of potential costs and resources needed to implement new programs and services.
- Serve as the key liaison to, and University expert on, Regional Transit Systems (RTS), take a lead role in coordinating service adjustments and enhancements with the RTS team. Participate in oversight of the Transportation Access Fee account with a cost-conscious focus on wise spending. Reconcile the RTS invoice for accuracy with the actual RTS services provided each month.
- Manage contracts and arrangements with current third-party providers of transportation and transportation-related services including Uber, Zipcar, Zimride, GOTCHA, private bus companies. Participate in identification, evaluation, selection, implementation and ongoing operation of potential future third-party services which may include bike share, scooter share, vanpools, remote park-and-ride service, etc.
- Assists with program and policy decisions in regard to the Carpool Program, scooters, private bus company services, electric vehicles, golf carts and low speed utility vehicles, etc.
- Coordinate cross-department efforts to grow and enhance the University bicycle and pedestrian programs.
- Manage the Transportation and Parking Services fleet vehicles.
- Represent the University and Transportation and Parking Services at meetings, conferences, tabling events, etc.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
